Entertainment in Prince Edward Island

If you are seeking things to do in the evening or at the weekends PEI has a lot to offer even in the winter months. Charlottetown has the reknowned Conferdation Center of the Arts, which features theatre, comedy, live music and festival events throughout the year. For smaller more personal performances you can visiting The Mac or the Guild which offer a weekly schedule.

Both Charlottetown and Summerside have multi-screen cinemas showing the latest releases whilst Charlottetown also offers the City Cinema - offering more art house fair. A short drive from Charlottetown towards the beach you will also find the Brackley Drive In Theatre, operating during the summer months and offering the authentic drive in movie experience.

For live music many of the pubs offer bands during the week or weekend. Both Hunters Alehouse and Babas Lounge have a reputation in the area for a great selection of music.

PEI Rocket in Charlottetown

The Rocket are PEIs Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team ( players from 16-20). Playing out of the Charlottetown Civic Center and around the Maritime region. The team is named after the legendary Maurice "The Rocket" Richard who played for the Montreal Canadiens in the 40's and 50's, and their team crest depicts his number, 9, which the Rocket have never issued.

Brackley Drive In Theatre in Brackley Beach

The Brackley Drive-in Theatre in Prince Edward Island opened in the mid-1950s under its original name of The Parkview Drive-in. In 1992, George, Linda and Robert Boyle of Winsloe, PEI purchased the drive-in and lovingly restored it to its original condition. You can't miss seeing our giant screen, over 5 stories tall from the ground and 70 feet wide - truly the best way to see any movie! The Brackley Drive-in generally opens for the season in mid-May and closes for the season in mid-September. It may, however, stay open one or two more weeks into the fall, depending on what movies are available.
