Prince Edward Island native, Teresa Doyle has toured extensively in North America, the United Kingdom and Japan and has performed with the legendary Irish band, The Chieftains. Ms. Doyle has also taken her traditionally influenced music to countless festivals including Mariposa, Winnipeg and Vancouver Folk Festivals, the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo.
In recent years, Teresa has been recording and performing Celtic Music for children. Joined by Acadian fiddler and step dancer Anastasia DesRoches, Teresa has presented hundreds of shows to young audiences from Labrador to Whitehorse.
Teresa's recordings have met with critical acclaim across North America and the British Isles. She has created what you might call adult/child crossover music "doubly attractive - enticing kids, even as it intrigues the parents". Dirty Linen Teresa credits much of her recording success to her long-standing musical relationship with producer, Oliver Schroer. This partnership allows her to continue to live in rural Prince Edward Island and still work with some of Canada's top Celtic musicians. "His arrangements provide a whimsical backdrop for Doyle...perfectly tailored for young listeners while Schroer's broad pallet ensures adults won't mind the repeat spins it's sure to receive". Chronicle Herald "'Very hip' musical arrangements". Chicago Parent "Artful production and arranging that absolutely shows off Doyle's sweet, pure vocals". The Atlantic Gig Her latest release "Cradle on the Waves" is a collection of lullabies and slow aires; traditional Celtic fare and some beauties penned by Teresa.
Doyle has seven recordings on her own label, Bedlam Records. Her recording of "Home by Barna" was released in 22 countries on the compilation World Playground: A Musical Adventure for Kids, Putamayo World Music, 1999. She lives on a small farm in Bellevue, Prince Edward Island with husband Brett and young son, Patrick.
